ELKS VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION
Saturday, August 18, 2007
Whereas our Elks and Royal Purple make significant
contributions to the Community and
Children with Speech and Hearing problems
today,and
Whereas much of this was accomplished through
hard work and dedication, and
Whereas our Elks and Royal Purple demonstrated
caring, true membership, and optimism for the future,
and
Whereas the efforts of our Volunteers have
contributed greatly to the Club remaining open
for everyone to enjoy,
I therefore proclaim Saturday, August 18, 2007
to be Elks and Royal Purple Appreciation Day

BINGO
We are still working Bingo’s to make money as a fundraising initiative. If anyone can volunteer
once in a while, please call Nicole Morrison at 692-1522.
HOCKEY SQUARES
We are doing our Hockey Board again this year. It is $40.00 for the year for a square. Each game
pays $20.00 a period and $20.00 for aggregate score. If you are interested in buying a square again, or
you want to try it for the first time, please call Shirley at 692-1911. We have 100 squares to sell, so please
think about it.
YEAR EVENTS
This past year since January, has been very busy. We have done the Concession at Peacock
School for the Dance Festival, we hosted National Darts for the first time, which was a huge undertaking,
and we did the concession in Crescent Park on July 1st for Park Art.
We thank all of our volunteers for all the hard work. We were very successful in each event we took
on, so it makes it all worthwhile. Make sure you come out to the Volunteer Appreciation supper on
August 18th so that we can truly thank you.
MEAT DRAWS
Our Meat Draws are every Friday night in the Lounge at 5:30 P.M.
We would like to extend our Sympathy to all who have lost loved ones, and we send Get Well
Wishes to anyone who has been ill this year.
If you know of anyone in the hospital or someone who has passed away, call the Elks Chaplain,
Mike Ciona, at 691-5940, or call the Club.
If you have a change of address, please call the Club or any member and let us know so that you can
continue to receive your Newsletter.
This newsletter is dedicated to all the volunteers who give of themselves by dedicating
their time and hard work.
Attend all the meetings to keep our Lodges alive and well.
v Thanks to the members who go above and beyond the meaning of volunteering.
v Thanks to all who care that our Club remains open and are helping to reach our 100th Birthday.
v Thanks to all who donate to our events, buy tickets, purchase Hockey squares, etc.
v Thanks to all who work monthly to make steady income, such as our Bingo’s.
v Thanks to the dedicated members who let their name stand to be called whenever needed.

If anyone can volunteer for events – just call Shirley and let her know.
